These seven are enemies of learning—laziness, pride, delusion, impulsiveness, stiffness, arrogance, and stinginess.
If not for laziness, the world would be filled with rich and learned people—laziness is the root of failure.
These six obstruct greatness: laziness, indulgence in women, poor health, attachment to birthplace, contentment, and fear.
Even faults like laziness or silence can become virtues like steadiness or humility under the grace of Goddess Lakshmi.
Laziness destroys wisdom, wealth, life, fame, and strength—it is the source of all evils.
Laziness resides in the body as a great enemy; nothing equals effort which prevents downfall.
Even a mighty lion yawns with laziness; despite effort, the unfortunate often face resistance.
Even with good allies, one who is lazy will fail—like a wet ball dropped, he will not bounce back.
